Rich Smart fluid bed dryer granulator is mainly used for powder material mixing, granulation, drying, granule "spraying" coating and other operations in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical and other industries. Such as tablet granules, instant beverages, and condiment granules. Its main function is to make granular or spherical tablets, and it can also provide protection for tablets by coating. As an advanced pharmaceutical equipment, the multifunctional fluidized bed granulation coating machine is efficient, simple and economical in the manufacturing process, and can meet the needs of various different uses.

Basic Principle

 

The fluid bed dryer granulator operates on the principle of fluidization. In this process, a stream of air or gas is passed through a bed of powdered material, causing the particles to become suspended or "fluidized." This fluidized state allows for even distribution of granulation agents (like binders or adhesives) and promotes uniform granule formation.

 

Key Components

 

Air Supply System: Provides the necessary airflow to fluidize the powder. This is typically a blower or fan that generates a controlled volume of air.

Granulation Chamber: This is where the powder is fluidized. It usually consists of a vertical column where the powder is suspended by the upward-moving air.

Perforated Plate or Mesh: Positioned at the base of the chamber, it allows the air to pass through while holding the powder in place.

Spray Nozzle: Used to apply the granulation liquid (binder) to the fluidized powder. The nozzle atomizes the liquid into fine droplets, which are then distributed evenly over the powder.

Cyclone Separator (optional): Collects the granulated material from the air stream, separating it from any fine particles or dust.

Control System: Manages various parameters such as air flow rate, temperature, and spray rate to ensure consistent granulation results.

 

Process Overview

 

Preparation: The powder material is loaded into the granulation chamber.

Fluidization: Air is introduced through the perforated plate, creating a fluidized bed where the powder particles are suspended and agitated.

Granulation: The granulation liquid is sprayed onto the fluidized powder. The liquid binds the particles together, causing them to agglomerate into granules.

Drying (if applicable): In some systems, the granules are dried within the same chamber or transferred to a separate drying unit to remove any residual moisture.

Collection: The final granulated product is collected, often using a cyclone or similar separation device.
